Firefighter's Training Events

A couple of weeks ago, we were graciously invited to participate in a Firefighter's training. Of course we weren't actually involved. We watched and I took pictures. Checkout the event below.

Klimt Cane - 50 mm (2)

Klimt Cane

Here is the second photo in my 50 mm project. Today I thought it would be appropriate to pay homage to Tropical Blonde for her inspiration. The photo is of Kate and a sample of a Klimt Cane.

FALL - 50 mm Project

Fall

Thought a good way to begin the 50 mm Project is with a fall photo, cleverly titled "Fall".

The 50 mm Project is where I will spend the next month using a 50 mm prime lens to take all of my photographs. The goal of this project is limit composition possibilities. This forces the photographer (me) to move closer to the subject to get the best composition. In this new modern age of Digital Photography, Photoshop and high megapixels; it is easy to rely on technology to fix mistakes in your photos. My goal with the 50 mm Project is to take my photography to the next level.

A New Beginning

Its been awhile since I last blogged, but now I am ready to being again. I must thank my wife for the encouragement through her own blogging at Tropical Blonde. We both have begun to expand our hobbies. Kate with her jewelry at her Etsy Store, which can be seen below:

Kate has dedicated Tropical Blonde blog to her hobby and family. So will this blog be dedicated to my hobbies, namely Photography. In the upcoming weeks, I expect to be posting new photos here and on my Flickr Site. The First item on my agenda will be the 50 mm project, but more on that later. For now, welcome to my new redesigned site.
